  1. No, they don't forget. Their memory is excellent, much better than a human's. But remembering doesn't mean preserving the old relationship.

    We also remember and recognize our “exes”. But our lives no longer depend on them and the old emotions have disappeared. So it is with dogs.

    It should also be taken into account that their love is not the same as that of humans. As they adapt to their new life, they don't feel homesick for their first family. What is now is more important than what was and is gone. And this happens not even in years, but in about a month.
