Is it possible to prove the thesis in a public or domestic issue?
Hello, dear Ladies and Gentlemen!Often we have to argue about something. Not always, of course, we are polite and honest in an argument, anything can happen, but let's still assume an honest discussion. How can you prove the truth of your thesis and the falsity of the opponent's thesis? If we do not argue for the sake of argument, but for the sake of truth, then we will not resort to sophistic tricks. But then how is a dispute possible? What is it based on?If you look at the proof of the theorem, then each point follows logically from the accepted assumptions and conditions of the theorem. But is this feasible at the domestic or public level? Is it possible to prove everyday or socio-political theses in a strictly logical sense? If so, how? And if not, what is the proof? Just based on authority figures? Or is it true that what is profitable, more liked? Or will we inevitably slide into the Procustean bed of sophisms (and the sophists were thinking about life, not mathematics, and spoke because everyone has their own truth) and the argument is not fair on the merits of the question, a priori?Thank you all for participating in the discussion.
Good night, everyone!
When teaching children math, we develop their ability to think logically. Studying mathematics develops your thinking skills. But we must remember that in science all terms are unambiguous, clearly defined, so we use logical proof. In everyday situations, everything is ambiguous. So it's hard to say how to prove your judgment. They basically solve everything on the level of intuition.
In political and social issues, speakers have time to prepare for their answers. Here you can expect a more logical thought. But don't forget that social science isn't about math. And a political or judicial process is not a school lesson. Therefore, it is difficult to expect that the respondent will behave like a blackboard and prove something accurately.
