What is Wittgenstein's book Philosophical Studies about and how to read it?
I recently purchased Wittgenstein's Philosophical Studies and was hoping to read it, but when I opened it, I found short statements with numbers. I've never met a philosopher with this style of presentation before.Tell me how to read this book, and whether it is necessary to read it at all in the literal sense of the word? Perhaps it is intended for something else?
read as much as you can. numbers are just a numbering of thoughts, use them as you please, for example, for quoting.
such an organization of books (with paragraph numbering) is quite acceptable, if it scares you, then you should read the Bible before studying philosophers. first, it's good for philosophy, and second, it's a good way to stop being afraid of numbered phrases.
