The bear figurines in the painting “Morning in a Pine Forest” were painted by artist Konstantin Savitsky based on the sketches of the “main” author — Ivan Shishkin. There is a version that he, Savitsky, suggested the idea of this painting to the landscape painter.
However, the co-author's signature was erased from the canvas by the buyer of the painting, collector Pavel Tretyakov. He considered that everything in this work, “from design to execution”, speaks about the creative manner characteristic of Shishkin.
