  1. I think it's for the same reason that Jesus Christ was crucified. Why are you surprised by the arrow-pierced icon?

    This painting depicts a large number of Orthodox saints, the vast majority of whom were persecuted or even martyred.

    The Orthodox in Russia had to suffer a lot.

    I think that the arrow-pierced icon of the Holy Trinity symbolizes the era of the struggle against God, when churches were destroyed and icons were burned.

    For example, when I looked through a magnifying glass at the icon of the Virgin that I got from my grandmother, I saw that her eyes were pierced.

    I was shocked, but not surprised, because I knew what our country had been through. This icon went through the same thing.
