  1. Theories of evolution predated Darwin. Its first forms were already among the ancient Greeks. So yes, there were options. But they were actively discussed shortly before the advent of Darwinism.

    Darwin did not discover evolution, he only proposed the most appropriate mechanism for controlling it.

  2. The great scientist must have been a Christian himself.. In general, I read somewhere that Darwin himself perceived his “Theory of Evolution” as his own hilarious invention and never took it seriously. Well, as for Christians, even after Darwin and now they understand perfectly well Who created whom and of course they cannot accept the theories of even such great jokers as Darwin.
