It's definitely there. Just keep in mind that it is very culturally determined: not that someone is “more” or “less” cultured, but just different people laugh at different things.
You may not smile even at what your surroundings are laughing at – and this absolutely does not mean that something is wrong with you and CHU. You may find something completely different funny.
If people laugh at your jokes, then it's there. If you're joking and people are twirling their fingers at your temple,then you probably still have a sense of humor, just not your audience.
