  1. Not quite. According to Berkeley, “matter” is an extra entity. To be is to be perceived or to perceive (esse est percipi aut percipere). The world and any object in it consists of many ideas-physical properties, shape, color, etc., but perception does not depend on the human will. The reason for the perception of ideas is God, and he is also the reason for the order and continuity of the world. Figuratively speaking, God is a “Matrix” in which everyone perceives what it shows.
