There were two trees in Paradise. One was a Tree of Harmony and Perfection. It was from him that the Lord allowed Adam and Eve to pluck the fruit and eat. The second tree is the Knowledge of Good and Evil. It was strictly forbidden to eat fruit from it. But having succumbed to the persuasions of the devil in the form of a podkolodnaya snake, they disobeyed God the Father and devoured the apple. And the first thing that our ancestors experienced after tasting the forbidden fruit was a sense of shame! That is, if you translate from the biblical language to human – I did a bad thing and I realize ( because I didn't understand it before ) that my action is bad, I am ashamed of it, I despise myself, and I repent, and I will try not to commit such actions again. The main message of this biblical parable is repentance. In realizing the sinfulness of some of their actions and in rejecting them through REPENTANCE.
7 And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
(Genesis 3: 7)
it is written that when they ate from the Tree of Knowledge, their eyes opened-apparently this is some kind of knowledge, perhaps even at the level of instinct, but consciousness (self-consciousness) was clearly present in this. Consciousness = with knowledge. ( from the tree of knowledge)
9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, ” Where are you?”
10 And he said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.
11 And he said, Who told you that you were naked? Did you not eat of the tree from which I forbade you to eat?
(Genesis 3: 9-11)
Apparently, there is a difference between Adam's knowledge through communion with the Lord and Adam's knowledge from another source. Here and there comes knowledge, but there is a gulf between them.
