You, like me, are an extroverted introvert, just like so many other people. Yes, this happens and is very common.
You feel good around people, but periodically need to be alone. This is the so-called rest from communication.
Sometimes we feel lonely. It is difficult to balance the need to be alone with yourself and the feeling of loneliness. Often we want to “go out in public” because we are lonely, but the comfort of our own apartment simply does not allow us to leave it.
Yes, we enjoy being surrounded by people, but that doesn't mean we're willing to talk a lot – it takes a lot of effort. We really need a “recharge” of silence after long conversations.
