It seems to me that if we are not talking about self-activity, but about some more or less talented self-expression aka creativity, then here we can talk about the role of the author in art. After all, many people, including me, are more interested in – or at least more understandable – works when you know a little bit about the author's personality, what happened in his life (or even more so, is happening now).
