THERE is a stupefying pattern of life activity everywhere (a systemic disease of all countries and times) – this is a common cause of the gradual degradation of the entire civilization.
In ANY PROFESSION (field of work), there should not be any completely stupid people in terms of safety, but they do exist and systematically arrange Chernobyl and Fukushima and much worse…
This is partly true, but there are also very unfortunate examples when an Internet service provider cannot explain how the router connects and what to do to fix it

A person, of course, can not cover all aspects of life,but some are so limited in their interests that it is not shameful to call them stupid.
This is what I encountered in college.I used to think that everyone is smart and someone in some area is better or worse.It turned out that there are people who are not interested in anything specific and it was not possible to talk about something with them.
Talk to the person about something other than your interests, so as not to immediately add them to the list of “stupid” ones,then you will see what kind of person is in front of you.

Yes, why not ? There is such a thing as “Needs” For someone there is a need for books, self-development and he believes that those who do not understand him are stupid . But for this “stupid” person, there may be other needs . Maybe even more spiritual, cultural and moral than just reading books .
